Tin Pei Ling's NDP photo with Pritam Singh and Sylvia Lim draws praise for political goodwill


A welfie featuring Singaporean politicians from across the political divide appeared to resonate with netizens.
People’s Action Party (PAP) Member of Parliament (MP) Tin Pei Ling shared a welfie with Workers’ Party (WP) chief Pritam Singh and fellow WP MP Sylvia Lim during the National Day Parade (NDP) on Sunday (Aug 9).
The three were all smiles as they waved Singapore flags for the camera at the National Stadium, where Singapore celebrated its 61st birthday.
Her post on Facebook has garnered more than 3,800 likes in the last 24 hours, while the same post on her Instagram received almost 1,900 likes in the same period.
The Marine Parade-Braddell Heights GRC MP also shared photos with other Cabinet members who attended the parade, including a group photo with other female politicians at the stadium, and fellow Marine Parade-Braddell Heights GRC MPs Seah Kian Peng, Diana Pang and Goh Pei Ming.
It was during the parade that Tin took that wefie with Singh and Lim.
The trio's wefie drew positive reactions from netizens, with some praising the display of unity despite their political differences.
"Yes! That's how it should be, embrace all different voices to build a stronger nation," wrote a netizen.
Another commented: "That was [an] amazing spirit."
Others expressed their gratitude to Tin for sharing those moments, including one who said: "Thank you ... for sharing the National Day celebrations with the other ministers and MPs."
