PUBLISHED ONAugust 07, 2026 8:50 AMBYSean LerTravellers departing Singapore via Woodlands Checkpoint are advised that there is currently "very heavy departure traffic" due to tailback from Malaysia.
In an advisory posted on its social media at 3.02pm on Friday (Aug 7), the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said that the departure car queue is beyond Woodlands Avenue 3 and Exit 10A.
It estimated that waiting time to Woodlands Checkpoint is more than three hours.
Travellers are advised to check traffic conditions before embarking on their journeys.
The authority said in an advisory issued on Aug 3 that travellers can expect "very heavy traffic" at the Woodlands and Tuas Checkpoints from Aug 7 to 10, during the National Day long weekend.
It added that security checks have been stepped up amid a heightened global security environment and recent developments in the Middle East.
More than 18 million travellers crossed the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints during the recent Hari Raya Haji, Vesak Day long weekend and June school holidays from May 26 to June 28, according to ICA.
Traffic peaked on June 19 with more than 598,000 crossings in a single day, surpassing the previous record of almost 589,000 crossings on Dec 19, 2025.
Motorists are reminded to cooperate with ICA officers, observe lane discipline and follow traffic rules.
Those caught cutting queue will be directed to go to the back of the line.
